| The American Polish Club was chartered as a social and ethnic group to promote and preserve Polish culture, traditions, language dance, dedication to the community projects and a sense of Polish pride. In 1978 a choir was formed with Augustyn Sobocinski as director. Later Frank Gandor became director. They performed at various Polish events. In 1984, Gene Bobrowski formed a Polish dance group. They performed at the South Florida Fair, and various Polish Clubs throughout the State. On January 14, 1955, 23 Polish people met and decided to form American Polish Club. On June 27, 1955 a charter was granted and on March 13, 1959 the approval was received by the Clerk of Circuit Court for the Title of Incorting of The American Polish Club as a non-profit organization. Part of our commitment is to preserve through social, fraternal, and educational activities the Polish language, customs, songs, music, art, and industry: to encourage, and generally to secure to its members and their families the benefits of cooperation to their social and cultural life. Over the years the American Polish Club served the community by contributing Christmas baskets to the needy, donating to the blood bank, and supporting the veterans. |
